Ailing Mets …

C Ramon Castro: Working out. No timetable.

SS Jose Reyes: Tight left hammy. We’ll see about tonight. It’s cold. Wouldn’t be surprised if he gets another day.

LF Moises Alou: Could get in a rehab game this weekend.

RHP Pedro Martinez: In PSL rehabbing.

RHP Orlando Hernandez: In the boot. Won’t see him any time soon.

RHP Duaner Sanchez: Could return as early as tonight.

John: If you get A chance ask David Wright if he got to meet
Al Pacino when he was on Letterman last night.

How’s the injury update for Oliver Perez’ brain? By my count, he failed to back-up behind the plate on two plays on Sunday. I would hope that one of the beat writers asks Willie about these unacceptable brain farts. And I would further hope that Willie has an acceptable answer.

  3. Stillsane

John: I am hoping that the Mets think about the lack of ease in bringing someone up from AAA in New Orleans when they start looking at year’s end for a AAA location. I think Buffalo, Columbus and some others are also at contract’s end this year. Would be advantageous to have a location closer to Shea.

Stillsane: Syracuse will be the spot of AAA Mets next year. Toronto’s contract is up after this year. They currently reside there.

    Mike,

That would be great if it comes to pass. Nice to have your troops nearby!

Tiffany, better be careful making statements about OP’s brain. The PC police will be after you.

I wish they would move AAA team to one of the independent league teams (Newark Bears, Somerset patriots) so I could see them here in NJ.

Duaner has become something of a folk hero – mostly b/c of his goggles and a particularly lascivious nickname – but if he comes into this game and strikes out a couple of Nats, the crowd will be pumped, b/c he will be pumped.

How do you know your team sucks Reason # 4:

    4. You know your team sucks when the fans dream about a guy who has been hurt for almost 2 years coming in to save the franchise from its miserable, hideous slow slide to the depths of the standings.

How long before the Shea “faithful” NOT give him the
    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOs.
