Pregame notes: Jose Reyes (hamstring) said he felt better today but still isn’t ready to play. He’ll be at Shea tomorrow for treatment and will see how the pain is before deciding if he’ll return for Tuesday’s game with the Nats. … Brewers manager Ned Yost continues to try to reinvent baseball by batting the pitcher 8th. Randolph said he doesn’t plan to follow the trend anytime soon, although he did understand the strategy. … Gold Glover David Wright took a little extra work at third base after making two errors yesterday. He said after the game that his throws were “tailing” a little and that he’d have to work out the problem. … Reliever Duaner Sanchez is nearing a return (finally). Randolph didn’t have an exact timetable, but it should be this week. Randolph plans to drop Sanchez in his usual press situations, not ease him back. … Spent some time this morning talking to Angel Pagan. He seems like a great guy who has a good grip on his early-season success. He’s not going to start campaigning for all-star votes any time soon, and is fully prepared to go back to the bench once Moises Alou returns (whenever that is).
