Short of Duque and/or Pedro coming back, Figueroa has earned the right to pitch until he stinks it up a few times, at which point Vargas will slide into the rotation. Also because he was small he thought he would never get a college invite, but he did get one at Brandeis where he made the team immediately and also got a BA in American Studies. I saw him on the SNY.tv video clip this morning and he certainly is poised and well spoken - reminding me very much of Ron Darling - who also had nice things to say about Nelson during his recap clip. Let's hope the story has more chapters and that Nelson continues with his dream, all summer.
