Nice call Dan Gurney about Tom Landry. Did everyone mock LaRussa when he invented the rule about the closer be only allowed to pitch the 9th inning. I hate that one but it sure took over the game.

Castillo had better be playing or on the DL tomorrow. Easley/Anderson up the middle isn’t fair to any pitcher. The way this team is hitting its a perfect time for Anderson Hernandez. Nobody will notice the fact that he can’t hit.

If Reyes is gonna be out several days, can Mets now put Castillo on DL? They’ll be down 2 guys.

I do not understand this black thing. Many teams use black even if it’s not their colors. The old uniforms were fine. These are just wacky. Get rid of them.

I’d rest Jose for the rest of the weekend and with the off day and look to get him back in there on Tuesday against the Nats.

In his second to last rehab appearance, Duaner Sanchez threw a hitless 15 pitch inning allowing just a walk. Duaner came into a 0-0 game, after starter Joselo Diaz had thrown 7 scoreless innings against Round Rock.

Duaner is expected to pitch again for New Orleans tomorrow, and then if everything goes right, be called up to the majors on Tuesday.

I thought this was an encouraging game all-around, would have been nice to bust it open back in the 4th, but I was pleased (albeit nervous) to see Willie show faith in Heilman by bringing him out in the 8th in a tight game.

My guys were there again and had a blast—even stayed to the end, my son was so “damaged” by the Benitez-Looper years that he still usually insists on leaving before the 9th.
