It matters more. If you want to win you should win in your neighborhood. As JD pointed out our record was not good last year. We need to do better. As Sloppy says it is not the end of the world and it is a long season, but this team had an attitude problem and as with most things it is a good thing to set the bar high. But a loss against the Braves on April 4 counts exactly the same as a loss to them in August or September. Does it become more acceptable to lose in April than in August? No one is suggesting the world will stop rotating on its axis if the Mets lose 2 of 3 or even all three. But it's also foolish to write it off and say...we'll get them next time.
