Mets Chat Room is an in-game thread, but by no means is it limited to what’s happening on the field.
It’s the Braves and one way or another they stir feelings. Maybe like an old flame that comes back to haunt you. If you have any Mets-Braves moments, let’s have them.
Mike Piazza’s homer. Robin Ventura’s grand slam single. Any number of Armando Benitez blown saves.
Looking forward to talking with you tonight.-JD

Can’t even remember what season it was (early 2000s sometime), but in the last game of the season, Bobby Cox brought in a pitcher named Bong for no reason but to rub dirt in our faces about the Grant Roberts fiasco. Not sure why that stands out, but it always irked me.
How about that great moment when Kenny Rogers was too chicken to throw a strike and all the Metsies had to walk off the field in defeat, another season of great angst for all the lttle metsies!!!!!
This is the best site thanks to J Delcos, !!!!!!
Just saw what the southeast part of the country looks like on the Weather Channel – Atlanta was in a red tornado box – good idea to pass on the game tonight. Whole east coast is stormy – around here there is snow in Albany.
Brian did the whole MLK show in the rain in Memphis, too, but it was also very moving. Big crowds there today in the rain with a sea of colorful umbrellas.
The Yankees and Tampa Bay are playing in front of a very sparse crowd in a very wet Stadium. Girardi is sick, wouldn’t stay home, and is in his office under some blankets taking pills.
The other day I quoted from the Gary Smith article about Omar in the June 2007 issue of S.I. Here’s the link – find out what the boss is really like:

Hey Annie,
Do you believe in the curse of the Sports Illustrated cover?
DC
Why do you even waste your time with your trash talk on a Mets blog? You don’t even Make sense half the time.
Joe D –
It is my belief that the curse expires after the season :)
Seriously, I wish everyone would take the time to read this article about “O”. It’s quite different from the usual sports ‘puff piece’ because of Omar’s history. It really helped me to understand him better – and his relationship with Willie as well (they’ve know each other 30 years)
