Scneider is absolutely the wrong type of guy to bat 9th. When Alou returns the lineup wouldn't handle the situation any more. Did you guys know that in the 40s the Pirates manager experimented with this 2 power hitter batting one/two, his pitch 7th and the normal 1-2 guys batted 8th and 9th because he wanted the power guys to have more chances to pop the ball out. Of course the Pirates were horrible so it wasn't a valubale test. You could bat Pagan or Endy 9th, but not Schneider.
