Orlando Hernandez set the Baltimore Orioles down in the first inning, but did it with his familiar high leg kick. He still had little on the ball.

Maybe this will briefly curatil all the hand-wringing about El Duque now. I mean from the way some have been telling it, he wouldn’t retire one batter today and now he’s pitched a 1-2-3 first.
you know what, if he still has “little on the ball” i’m not satisfied. I’d much prefer to see velocity then him getting outs. What good is that when you can’t throw it hard?
Hmmm…let’s see…Five innings, four hits, one run, one walk.
I think this El Duque kid has sufficiently proven he can pitch a little. Maybe he’s an outside shot for the fifth spot in the rotation.
