i appreciate the fact that you guys keep track of all these bullpen arms game by game, but please, don't use era. Spring era's mean nothing, ESPECIALLY for a bullpen guy. Literally ONE inning could totally throw that era. Now, of course you should keep track of how they're doing, how they look, but era just doesn't mean much.

Figgy and Smith are going to NO after today.

Unfortunately that opens the door for Hitman Stokes.

SS: It should probably be the end of each of them making the staff. I didn't see it, but unless the Marlin guy hit it off a very good pitch, then like I said in my other post I can get Pelfrey to do that.

Figueroa also gave up a three run bomb in the game, but, that only brought his era up to four.

Smith just gave up 3 runs in the Marlins game, bringing his ERA for the spring to over 8. I think he could benefit from a little more time in AAA. He has certainly been given opportunities this spring to prove himself and has not met the challenge.

if they didn't think they could keep him all year, which would have been hard considering Sanchez probably coming back at some point, its better to expose him now rather then later, after he possibly has a good run in the majors. Teams would be wanting to pick him up then, at this point, most teams don't want to mess with their rosters much, so exposing him now might turn out to be a good plan. Who knows.

The Mets made a judgement on a guy..... A rule 5 guy big deal... They still might keep him.. the Rocks didn't protect him, you don't know if they want him or not. But if they keep Stokes vice Smith because of options and Clarke vice Pagan because of options (when Alou comes back)then this will be 2 more indications of a no plan no clue FO).

So as I suspected, they don't want to keep him b/c they are not sure they could have him on the roster for the whole yr.

But keep Stokes who stinks. I saw that some unnamed Met FO official said that Stokes has swing and miss pitches. But he also has lots of swing and hit pitches.
