Postcard from Florida: Remembering a sad day.

Leaving Winter Haven, likely for the last time. This isn’t a place I would go to on my own.

I’ve covered a lot of spring training games here. The one I will always remember was right after the boat accident that killed Indians pitchers Steve Olin and Tim Crews.

It was as quiet as I’ve ever heard a crowd at a sporting event. Nobody wanted to be there that day.
