Let’s go. Fill in those NCAA hoops brackets. You might have a chance to win ten grand. You’ll watch, so you might as well have something on the games. Good luck.
Correction: I won’t watch….unless the Mets are playing college basketball now.
To me, football, hockey, and basketball are all just there to keep me occupied until baseball season rolls around.

I stopped filling out brackets a couple years ago. I was too conflicted in choosing who I want to win versus who I think will win. It’s one thing to go down swinging with your alma mater, but it was painful for me to pick Duke-yeah, I’m a hater-on one hand and then root against Butler or Southern Illinois. I’ve enjoyed the tournament so much more.
Question to the readers: have any of you been at a school when they made their run through the NCAAs to a title? I was in grad school at Arizona in ‘97 when they made that historic run. It was indescribably awesome. What are your stories?

Dave – No, I was at UConn before the big times started, and as a child went to numerous Yale b-ball games when Dad volunteered as an usher for the Athletic Department. My alma mater is actually Albertus Magnus, a woman’s college.
When I worked at Yale our Department always had a Final Four pool, but of course, it is pure luck.
I still fill out a bracket sheet anyway, and this year the natural progression led me to a final four of Butler, Siena, Stanford and UConn, with Butler and Stanford leading to a Stanford win. Who would bet on that result??

Well, Annie, The first time Siena made it to the tournament they won a couple of games so you never know…..

My friend who lives in the Albany area says Siena has had a great season so…we’ll see – it will all look different on Monday morning.
Sometimes I get lucky, when I lived in South Florida during the Dolphins reign, I once won $200 in a Super Bowl party pool while I played gin with my golfing buddies – several of the Dolphin wives – never watching a moment of the game. (I really hate the violence of the NFL).
Do we have tonight’s lineup yet? No TV or radio coverage here for the game so I’ll be checking in…......

Its on MLB.com but I don’t know if Indian or Met coverage. I went to Albany SUNY for undergrad work too many years ago, and Albany and Siena had teams but they didn’t even give out scholarships. Now Siena is in last 64 and last 2 years before this Albany was in it….
