Quotebook: Waiting on Sanchez.

March

“He hasn’t pitched in back-to-back games yet, and we need to see that. There’s not much time left in spring training, and the most we might see that is once.’’ – Manager Willie Randolph on Duaner Sanchez.

Regardless of how optimistic he might be, I don’t think we’re going to see Sanchez on the Opening Day roster. Why take the chance?

    Exactly.

looks like NO for Sanchez. Myabe for best. Gives time to see if Register is for real and maybe trade Sosa or Show to open spot later on.

    Figueroa deserves a shot

Mets can live without Sanchez, he was not there last year and not the reason for the EOY swoon. Take 11 pitchers north: 4 starters, Wagner, Heilman, Feiciano, Wise, Shoeneweis, Sosa, Register. Try to dump Stokes. Sosa and Shoeneweis expendable too. Can slot in Joe Smith in a pinch, fill out pen with Pelfry if they move any of the lesser 3. A formidable staff and pen in my opinion.
