Why did he have the surgery in Vail. Did Vargas go to the Steadman Hawkins Clinic. I know that they are very good. On another note, are the Mets settling for a back up first baseman by committee using the "former all second base players"? Minaya should have Pittsburgh and a few other teams on speed dial looking to try and score a right hand hitting first baseman/outfielder. Anderson, Easley, and friends are only stop gap replacements.
