Ramon Castro is out of the game with a strained right hamstring in the bottom of the second.

What a big surprised, i mentioned the other day how stupid it would be to play castro with a tight hamstring, what do the mets brass do, let him play today, results, hamstring is now even worse than before, keep it up, hamstring is torn and castro will be out for the season, really smart.
Pedro looks good, delgado is even looking better at the plate, things are looking up for the mets.
They said Castro's hammy didn't get hurt any worse than it had been.
I'm starting to think that the mets are cursed, as soon as I mention delgado looks better at the plate, he gets hurt and leaves the game because he cuts his arm when a batters bat gets splintered, you can't write this stuff, unbelievable.
Keith: A Met could have a massive heart attack and the announcement would say he's day to day….....
A kid like Pelfrey ashould have been watching Pedo today, and every day. Maybe he would learn howe to pitch…..
Did a Whammy pop up in the press box when Castro left?
Possibly a small animation of a Whammy in a UFO beaming someone's money away before hand and then a "BOING" sound?
I think they should play a crying baby in the background when Mike C makes a post.

Great starting rotation, above-average bullpen, above-average bench… great core hitters in Beltran, Reyes and Wright.
But they lined up a ridiculously weak/old/injured complimentary every-day positional line-up in the deeply banged-up and old Alou and Delgado, the role-players disguised as starters in Church and Schneider and the banged-up banjo-hitting Castillo.
They were locked in with Delgado, I suppose, so you have to just ride that trainwreck out to the end and… there were no better options in the off-season than just rolling the dice on Alou for one more year.
You could even make the argument that for 2008 Castillo will probably hit for a better average than a Gotay/Easley platoon would've, though its hardly forgiveable for 2009, 2010 and 2011 when Gotay will be a healthier and better player.
But Church and Schneider when they had Milledge and Estrada on the roster, its just laughable.
A strong bench only means so much when your starters are in tattered and…
We're just gonna have to see if its great enough pitching to make up for only having three legitimate everyday hitters on the 25-man roster.
What is with you guys? Anybody says the Mets aren't perfect and you fire personal assaults. Obviously, the negatism has a lot of truth to it or guys like scoopcoop and metsfan would have anwers others than cheap shots, and nothing else. Play with Cerrone, he is now an SNY lackey and says no negative word about anything Mets.
It is not a question of people having negatives. But that post from Mike C was the first time I recall him stating that the Mets have something positive.
I'm just getting irritated that some people can only look at the negatives. There is no doubt that the Mets are flawed. I agree that the Mets hitting is an issue. But they scored 804 runs last yr. That was 4th best. Unless you believe that the flawed hitting will lead to less than 800 runs, they should be able to score enough.
They are not a 100 win team. But their flaws are less than other teams. I'll take pitching over Phils hitting anyday.
Omar, its not about being negative or even being concerned with the Mets flaws that bother me about Mike C's statements. He makes some good points, but there are other points that are just totally incorrect and inaccurate.
Let's take Estrada for example. He keeps bringing up Estrada, while in the same sentence/paragraph he moans about how old and brittle Delgado and Alou are. Yet what he fails to realize is that Estrada is most likely going to start the season on the DL as he is slow to recover from offseason surgery. He also fails to realize that Estrada is living off ONE good season and would be a downgrade defensively from Schneider and a negligible offensive upgrade. But why look at facts when you can keep repeating lies and delusions over and over again.
Also, enough is enough with the Milledge trade. We've all said our piece, but now its time to move on. I like Milledge's potential, but its not like we traded Willie Mays, and the way he has been running his mouth since he left, which provoked David Wright (Mr. Clean) to address him through the media, says something to me. Church should be just as good as Milledge this season, and better than Green was last year, both offensively and defensively.
What I just said above should be accepted as a fairly neutral perspective on the matter. You may disagree, but I don't think I'm slighting any player.
And Omar, do you read the posts? There are many who post on the site who give actual evidence (stats) to back up their position, but are deemed "fantasy baseball players" (which is a bunch of BS, but that's a fight for another day.) I'll also note I added my own personal opinion from a more traditional scout's perspective as to why Milledge won't become a HOF player, but that was largely ignored. The negative posters just keep repeating their lies over and over again until they're accepted as truth. No on is saying that Church or Schneider are these great acquisitions that will put up great production, but they're also not these crappy platoon guys who are lucky to be in the bigs. They're going to be solid role players who complement the big bats, while playing solid defense.
Personally, I don't expect to field an all star at every position. Therefore, I appreciate what guys like Schneider, Castillo and Church bring to the table. What is mind boggling is how some fans wanted Eckstein, who has played in less games over the past few years than Castillo, because of his "grit" while we resign Castillo, who played with about as much "grit" as anybody down the stretch last year.
The bottom line is there are some who post on this site who just don't like Delgado, Alou, Church, and Schneider, for whatever reason, and make no attempt to be objective at all. For example, calling Delgado's time here a trainwreck. That's just bollocks. He had a great season/postseason in '06 and while he was a disappointment last year, he still pushed through a difficult season to be one of the better 1B in the NL last year.
