March
12

A Mets’ official said there is nothing to a WFAN report Angel Pagan was being traded to Boston for Co Co Crisp.

By the way, Pagan just homered.

It makes no sense for Mets to get Crisp. he wants out of Boston b/c he wants to play everyday. Unless alou is out for the whole yr, he won’t play everyday as a Met.

What if Beltran is not ready till May 1. I would rather have
Crisp than Pagan playing CF every day.

Scott: Too early to be thinking trade now. There are nearly three weeks left. There is time and they have enough where they don’t have to deal.-JD

He still will be complaining when he doesn’t play after Beltran is back (if he is not ready). And if Beltran is not back quick, then getting Crisp won’t solve the loss of Beltran.

John that is true but Crisp’s lefty righty splits are a lot more balanced than Pagan’s.

Hopefully, the Mets can get something better for Pagan then, or at least less salary coming back.

By the way, “Coco” is one word.

When was the last time that Crisp even played? I just checked thru the Red Sox box scores and don’t see any recent games that he’s been in…so why when we have 4 OFers that are at least partially injured (Alou, Beltran, Chavez and Church), would we trade for a guy with a groin injury that hasn’t played much in spring training?

    quote from yahoo sports:
Mar 10 OF Coco Crisp has been unable to play much since reporting to spring training. He has missed more than a week because of a pair of balky groin muscles, and he also had to undergo a root canal. Crisp had only four at-bats through Sunday in a pivotal spring that many expected to be an open competition with fellow OF Jacoby Ellsbury for the starting center field job. Yahoo! Sports

    I’d’a taken Coco Crisp.

And if/when you got Alou back, you could bench Church, so that’s no biggie.
