You know, how happy do you think a kid trying out for a starting spot on the 2008 Yanks feels about Crystal playing outfield tomorrow? Not very, I’m guessing…

How did the Mets’ kids feel in 2000 when they gave countless games and at-bats to Garth Brooks. I hardly think we Mets fans are in a position to criticize this.

It’s my opinion that Joba should start and Billy should not.
hahaha, you people think he just arbitrarily wears hats in movies because he’s a fan of that team? They are part of the costume. Wow, he’s not a Met fan, he’s a life long Yankees fan, always has been, always will, and has never said he’s anything but. The Mets hat in city slickers was part of the costume. Go figure, something in a movie not being real….

JD – that was my first thought when I heard the story.

The Mets helped him with one of those “Comic Relief” shows for the homeless he did with Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams? Crystal wore the Mets hat in the movie to thank Doubleday and Wilpon. He’s an actor and it’s a costume.
John, I just honestly have to ask, did you really think Crystal was some sort of fair weather fan who used to be a Mets fan and now is a Yankees fan? Did you really think he was a Mets fan just because he wore a Mets hat in City Slickers? I have to know.

I like Crystal, but the Mets lineup of comedians with Seinfeld and Rock is far superior to what the Yankees can field.
Besides, Crystal is far too conflicted to have credibility. What kind of a fan wears a Mets cap for commercial reasons, is a part owner of the D-backs, and roots for the Yankees? Answer: Typical Yankees fan : )

Why couldn’t he have been playing in that Rays game, though?
Brush him back for those damned lame Oscar songs or something.
