We have a new look. Of course, it is a work in progress. Pros? Cons? What would you like to see added? Thanks. JD

The look is nice, but the functionality of the old blog was better, which is obvious considering this is still a work in progress…But if you add in some of the features of the old blog, then I think you'll be in business
Thanks for putting this up… I move my comment form the other post:
I miss the stuff on right with the last comments…..I liked knowing right away what were the hot topics….
Where's your picture?
You could use one of the WordPress three-column format themes to add features/widgets and jazz up the layout. How about tagging or categorizing your entries? And a Search function.
Yeah John, we miss seeing your mug up in the corner, it was all about the attitude.
Oops. My bad. I just went back to the main page and saw all your categories!
I like it. Very simple, no clutter.
Hi John – I like it, too. However, could the size of the font of our comments be changed to the size of the font on your messages? As a writer, I don't think we need to 'jazz up' the site, but an Edit or a Preview button mught be helpful.
You're still writing the blog, so I guess that would be considered a "con".
I second what Sloppy had to say. I miss knowing what the hot topics are.
Otherwise the look is a lot better.
It looks sanitized almost to the point of being a generic template. As someone mentioned, the font could be larger. Something should also be done to personalize the big plain blue header at the top of the page. A Met logo and a picture of the old and new stadium perhaps. It should also say that you are the moderator and have your picture.
Not diggin' it. I'm with Stillsane. Looks antiseptic. Updates were easier to follow in old format and I likedf the color mix. And Scott and Sloppy have good points, too, about looking out for the hot news.
You guys keep agreeing with me and I won't know what to write!!!!!!!!!!
By the way JD, the clock is on standard time, or didn't they go to DST in the lower Hudson?

I second this.
As someone above said. Waay to sparse. All the flavor from your site is gone. All the content, all the links.
I think there is too much whitespace and the look is too different from the rest of the site. A site should be like any publication, it should have a consistent personality. Since you say this is a work in progress this is good for a very rough draft. This is very far removed from a 'production' or 'final' web log site.
I prefer the old one but this redesign is better than speedtv.com's
I really do miss the "latest comments" on the right side. Plus, I feel like the design looks a bit amateurish… like something I could make myself on blogspot, rather than a newspaper's blog.
Love it, actually.
I hate the hell out of bells and whistles on a webpage that doesn't require them and… as this is a site about one guy's writing on a subject and a bunch of people writing about that writing… simple works really well.
All that pictures and sub-windows and blahblahblah does is slow down load times and confuse navigation.
Stripped down in the best of senses, well done.
Remind people of this post Mike C when they say you are negative!!!!!
And… back with the eighteen thousand profoundly-ugly ads that take ten minutes to load.
It was definitely worth losing the "Recent Comments" to get rid of alla it.
