I know it is early.
And, I know Travis Hafner can hit anybody.
But this is what annoys me about Oliver Perez. The Mets gave him a 2-0 lead in the first, but he labored in his half of the inning.
He sure didn’t labor like that Lee guy did. Couldn’t finish a spring inning…... He looked good to the last guy.
He wasn’t laboring. He was throwing only fastballs at first as well. He was 1-2 on Hafner and threw a bad fastball. Then he started throwing his slider and he got the next two easy as you like.
Ollie being Ollie
Bottom of the third. Peterson just visited the mound to tell Ollie “Dude. We’re not taking you out of the game. You have to get out of this. Figure it out. You’re a big boy now.”
Bad Ollie showed up today… He’s visibly upset…
In other ST news, Mike Hampton left his game early for the Braves… SHOCKER!
AA defense killed him- but then he became a mess – walking around, head down, looking at the sky, talking to himself and struggling to find the plate….
Rookies screw up rear back and strike out the side you have the stuff to do it if your head didnt get in the way…
2nd start of ST….who cares
It’s early but this Perez’s MO. I lived in Pittsburgh when he was there and he neve could get any consistency.
