Game breakdown: In his second start, Johan Santana gave up a run on two hits with four strikeouts in three innings. … The Mets scored the game-winning run in their final at-bat for the fifth straight game. This time on Anderson Hernandez’s RBI single, his third hit of the day. … Fernando Martinez had two hits. … Olmedo Saenz played for the first time this spring. … Rule 5 pitcher Steven Register continued to impress with two scoreless innings.

Clubhouse chatter: “It would be nice if we could get some people healthy,’’ said David Wright. Of the Mets’ projected Opening Day roster, only Wright and Jose Reyes are considered healthy.

What’s next: Tomorrow vs. Washington, at Viera, Fla., 7:05 p.m.
