A three-paragraph item in the local paper caught my eye this morning. The headline read “Mets travel team seeking players.’’
It was for a youth baseball team, “but they could have been talking about us,’’ said Mets hitting coach Howard Johnson.

That’s true. They may be holding open tryouts soon – if only to fill in the slots on the minor league squads, since the minor leaguers will be needed to step in for the walking wounded.
I am just happy Ricky is not around this year. You know he would be just would be itchin to play again.
