I can imagine as each year passes, its becomes harder and harder for him to be "Brett Favre."

I too wish he would reconsider. I'm no professional athlete, but I think I'd rather leave a year late than a year early.

I believe the mentally tired stuff. At least he didn't have a crying press conference like he had the other year. If the Packers were in the East I would care, but since they aren't, good bye and good luck to him and Rogers....

I can't believe Favre retired because they didn't go after Moss. This guy played with so much passion. He said he was mentally tired. I take at his word, wish he would reconsider, but either way wish him well. He's always been one of my favorite athletes to watch.-JD

I don't think its true. But its understandable if it was. Getting Moss would put the team over the top. As long as he didn't lobby to get him and tell them this was the basis for his decision then I don't have an issue with it. I don't think he was holding the team hostage.

Keith: I was referring to the rumors of his retiring because the team didn't get Moss. On talent, I agree with you 100%, and I hope these rumors aren't true, but if a guy, any guy, even a David Wright kind of guy, is holding a team hostage then the team is better off without him. A player can't hold a team hostage.

Sloppy, that's a bold statement. Dude has 3 MVPs and s Super Bowl ring. I'll take him as my QB over anybody. And yes I am biased.

You can misjudge balls in RF and LF too. In fact, most say it is harder to judge balls in MLB in the corners, expecially when the hitter hits the ball the other way, b/c MLB players hit the ball so much harder the opposite field than what is routinely seen in MiLB.

I'm not Minaya's tool. Just stating that Mets are keeping him in CF. I think it is a mistake from the perspective that he won't be playing CF for Mets. Not b/c he can't play CF.

Annie: If the guy retired because his team didn't get a guy then that's sad. Keith will be better off without a guy like that runninghis team.

Scoop: When did you become the voice of Minaya? I saw FMART make nice plays this Spring but not in CF. I saw him make several horrible plays in CF last year when he played for the B-Mets. He couldn't judge the ball hit right at him in centerfield at all. That's something he doesn't have in the corners.

Did you see FMART play this spring? he made some very nice grabs. He has a well above avg arm.

Playing CF is easy than the corner.

It is a mute pt. He will play LF b/c Alou will be gone.

Sloppy - Reports now circulating that Favre quit/retired because the Packers wouldn't offer Randy Moss a contract to come and play there with Favre.

Scoop: The fact that the Mets play him center doesn't make him one. If you've seen him play center like I did last year for the B-Mets you would know clearly why I say it. If you thought Milledge had poor judgement in the corner, move it to center and make it worse and that's what he is out there. He ain't making the bigs on his golden glove capability. He will replace Alou when hes' ready.
Annie: I think you be the only one here who ain'y against me... You go girl!!!!

You might not consider FMART as a CF but the Mets do as that is where he has been playing his whole life.

Maybe its time for Beltran's legs to be moved to a corner. Unfortunatley, FMART ain't a center fielder, Gomez is gone in a good trade and Milledge is gone in a bad trade.... Stay in center.......

I would like to thank the world's biggest whiney crybaby, Brett Favre, for making his last professional pass such a memorable one for so many of us... Thank you Brett.
Keith, why would a Met fan root for a team from Wisconsin when you have two teams to choose from right in the same place.

Yikes.

However, I must admit, the Mets woes have taken a back seat to Brett Favre retiring for me. As a huge Packers fan, I'm crushed.
