The Mets play owner Fred Wilpon’s alma mater, the University of Michigan. “He’ll be happy either way, but I think he’d rather we win,’’ manager Willie Randolph said.
Third baseman David Wright and catcher Brian Schneider played as a DH in yesterday’s intra-squad game. Both are expected to play in the field.
Today’s pitchers: Jason Vargas, Ed Kunz, Billy Wagner, Aaron Heilman, Ricardo Rincon, Carlos Muniz, Nelson Figueroa, Nate Field and Ryan Cullen.
Not expected to play: Carlos Beltran, Luis Castillo, Damion Easley, Jose Valentin, Endy Chavez and Ben Johnson.
