Santana throws first batting practice

February
22

Johan Santana threw live batting practice for the first time this morning and came away pleased.

“I felt good,’’ he said. “I wasn’t trying to do anything crazy. I’m just trying to see where we are. It’s my first time since September that I faced live hitters.’’

Santana will throw batting practice again Sunday before pitching in an exhibition game.

JD – Does he do brushbacks?
