For starters, he’ll want at least $10 million a year. I would guess he’d want five years to start.-JD

with those numbers, would you do it? Inconsistency aside, the kid has incredible, electric stuff…plus, we wouldn’t have to go looking for his replacement next off-season
No way perez should get a 5 year. If some other team falls into this trap he is setting good luck to them. He’s lucky the mets rescued him from the minors in Pittsburgh. He’s setting himself up for failure if he doesnt have some type of huge year.
sloppy
Lot worse pitchers than OP making that money. He’ll get 12-15 per year on free agent market next year. It just market value. You guys are acting like he’s holding the Wilpons hostage.

Sloppy: The money wouldn’t be a worry. I wouldn’t give him 5 years though and i’m not sure any team would. Of course if he has a better year than last year (and let’s hope so,) he just might get it. I would think that if he does, 5 years 60 million would be the number.
Scott from Pelham
If Carlos Silva is able to get the contract he got from the Mariners then if Ollie wins 15 he will get 5yrs – and the minimum of 60 million.

JD, do you get any sense of the $$/yrs Boras expects OP to get and would the Mets figure to be in the bidding?
