    this is all just noise to give the press something to write about to get the fans excited.

    Not going to have any impact on how the team performs.

    It was a mistake for Carlos to say that. You do not want to paint a target on your chest.

    But once it is out, it is what any player feels at the beginning of the year.

    Then of course his owner says the same thing..

    Why was it a mistake??? Jimmy Rollins did the same thing and its in the Mets' head a full year later. Its great entertainment and maybe it will force these guys to play hard all the time…...

    Rollins had a great year, but we sucked for half a season and he should have choked on his words.

    It may feel nice to boast and strut, but the wise thing to do is let sleeping dogs lie. It is a long season. No reason to give your opponent another reason to hate you and want to spank you.
