Beltran not ready

February
16
227684_pl.jpgCarlos Beltran said he would probably miss the first few exhibition games because his scoped knees aren’t ready.

“I’m not where I want to be,” Beltran said. “The test won’t come until I run the bases.”

Beltran said the goal is Opening Day, not the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland. Beltran said he’s able to hit, but not run full speed or turn on the bases.

    Oh boy.

as long as he's ready to go opening day, i'm fine, it's also good that he can take batting practice and get his timing down, the other stuff, like running the bases and shagging fly balls is more instinctual, so he doesn't necessarily need to practice that.

I just hope this is not some kind of cronic issue. Lots of swelli, pain, etc.
