On the road again

I guess winter is officially over now. No, not the Super Bowl, but my luggage in on the equipment truck that is leaving Shea in a few hours.
Sometimes, I think Eisenhower packed lighter for Normandy.
Nice timing, though. The truck leaves the same day as the Santana press conference.

So how much golf do you get in down there JD?
John,
Out of curiosity, why does the team take your luggage to Florida. Is it a courtesy or do you travel as part of the team? Is this practice the same on road trips?
To Brian (RE: Luggage): It is a courtesy offered at the start and end of spring training. You’re gone for six weeks so you pack a lot heavier than during the season. I do not travel as part of the team during the season. I make my own hotel and plane reservations.-JD
To Scoopcoop (RE: Golf): For me golf will be going to a driving range in the morning of a night game.-JD
“I do not travel as part of the team during the season.”
JD, I thought all you press guys got the courtesy of getting travel by the team?
What were your impressions of Santana? Did he come across as a decent guy who can handle NY?
Why do you even have this website, you obviously do not like the team, every chance you get you throw them under the bus. Santana is introduced to the media and you write a post about your luggage going with the equipment? Unreal, do you get paid for this crap.
To Scoopcoop (Re: Travel): Nope, we’re on out own. Yeah, I think Santana can handle New York, but we’ll never really know until he gets booed. He’s pitched in big games, so he can handle pressure, but in Minneapolis there are only two papers who question him on a daily basis. He’ll have to adjust to that here.-JD
To NR (RE: Paid): As far as being negative about the team, liking or disliking the Mets is not an issue. And, yes, I get paid to comment on the Mets. Do you?
If you’re around long enough this summer, you’ll learn something from the team on this blog. It’s not my job to be a cheerleader. That’s up to you.-JD
Thank goodeness this is not a cheerleading place. Metsblog is a place where Mets are perfect and the blogger knows “everything” since he’s been bought out by SNY. This is a place for open debate, where we all cheer for the Mets and bitch about their losses and fight about it all the time, but we all want the Mets to win.
JD, I think I speak for everyone (except for a certain person LOL) that I think you do a fantastic job. You provide insights and provoke intelligent dialogue between fans. It’s obvious you get paid for this and should…you do a much better job than we idiots LOL. Thanks for all you do…
