Mets avoid arbitration with Feliciano

February
1

The Mets avoided arbitration with reliever Pedro Feliciano yesterday by agreeing to a one-year contract for $1.025 million. Feliciano made 78 appearances with a 3.09 ERA as a lefty setup reliever.

Still unsigned are pitchers Oliver Perez and Jorge Sosa, and outfielder Ryan Church. The Mets haven’t had an arbitration hearing in 16 years.

16 years without an arbitration hearing? Who was the last, Mark Carreon? In today’s market Jose Feliciano is probably a bargain. Being lefthanded he can always find a job.
