Will you watch Roger the dodger?

January

Mike Wallace calls Roger Clemens a “friend,” so I’m doubting he will be as hard hitting as he would with a sleazy politician or CEO.

Even so, are you planning to watch Clemens on “60 Minutes” on Sunday.

Should have some comedic value.

    NO

Apparently he stated that he had this trainer inject him w/B12 and lidocaine.

He must think folks are dumb than dirt instead of just plain dumb if he thinks they will believe that. He was better off not talking.

  2. stick

why did his but need lidocaine?

He must have gone to the OJ school of deny everything no matter what the evidence says. If you can lie with a straight face, people are dumb enough to believe whatever you say. Or elect you to office!

Haha besides the obvious issue of having lidocaine injected in his rear, McNamee had no incentive to lie in his testimony to Mitchell…in fact, had he lied, then he would be in jail right now. I highly doubt that he has it in for Clemens so much that McNamee would risk a prison sentence. On the otherhand, Roger has everything to lose should he fess up, and has no choice but to deny. What will help Clemens here is that all the evidence is circumstantial..Yes McNamee named Pettite, who admitted it, and yes there were all the issues regarding his body and performance at an old age, but there is no hard evidence that Clemens was using, should there be a trial.

Clemens can say whatever he wants as long as it is not before a court. If he is called to testify to any court he has to make a decision.

Clemens asked to testify to Congress
Panel also requests presence of former trainer McNamee

    MLB Headlines

WASHINGTON—Roger Clemens and the former trainer who said he injected the seven-time Cy Young Award winner with steroids and human growth hormone have been asked to testify before the House Oversight Committee at a Jan. 16 hearing, The Associated Press learned Friday.
It’s the same congressional panel slated to hear the day before from baseball commissioner Bud Selig, union leader Donald Fehr and former Senate majority leader George Mitchell, the author of last month’s report on doping in the sport.

  6. Scott from Pelham

If Clemens was innocent he would have filed suit against Mitchell and MLB. Instead he attacks McNamee. Clemens is gutless, always has been and now he does not have Joe Torre to
cover his ass. ( no pun intended )

  7. dave

that will be interesting. since McNamee cooperated with Mitchell at the request of the prosecutors to get less jail time I am assuming he is telling the truth. It would be better if he had some sort of documentation. Since he was specific about which drugs and at what times I assume he has some sort of records to back him.

Since this is under oath I wonder if the Rocket’s lawyers will advise him to plead the 5th; or do the lame I don’t want to talk about the past line that McGwire used.

  8. Dan Gurney

No I will not watch and I don’t think he can say anything to convince me he’s innocent. Only definitive proof that McNamee lied such as a confession or audio/video conversations.

  9. sloppy...

I’ll watch him under oath. CBS has further diluted its news organization’s reputation by having Clemens be interviewed by his friend. Obviously, as bad as Clemens’ excuse is CBS’ efforts to do anything to boost ratings.

  10. Annie Savoy

Probably not – he’s not sworn to tell the truth there, and we’ve already heard some of his responses from the CBS 60 Minute promos.

I would like to know a bit more about the ‘press conference’ supposedly to take place on Monday in Texas. Just where will that be held – at his ‘estate’???? – and who will be asking the questions???
