thanks fred said... its good to know that people should do nothing to try to make the world a little better place. Do your work and build up the hatred fred. That's a much better thing to do than what Omar is doing. NOT

If you are talking about the bad words that I said, it is only because I repeated what the Palistinians said what they want to do too the Jews.

You can not have peace when you are dealing with people who's main goal is to want to end the state of Israel and kill every Jew alive who lives ther. Then when that is done they will circle the world to find more of them to kill.

That by the way is their words.

Condi Rice is alreeady too much to bear, stay home Omar.

I don't really have a problem with Omar being overseas. After all he is not a one man gang and as far as trading for Santana I am sure he knows what he will and will not give up for the guy.

Also part of the GM's role is PR. I am surprised there is no side trip to China to drum up interest in that country and lay long term plans for recruitment there.

Many years ago basketball went to Africa and years later Hakeem and Mutumbo show up on these shores.

If he doesn't get Santana, I hope he does nothing. The less he does the less the team will deteoriate. Let Pelfrey and Humber pitch vice all these crap guys on the market. I'm sick of the risk/gain old guys. Take a risk with young guys like he did earlier with Maine and Perez.

Clearly, with Newhan and Green gone -- and with Schoeneweis facing some type of action for his past steroid use -- Omar is combing the globe in an effort to replenish his team's supply of Jewish talent.

Nothing against this Omar trip...

However, it once again shows that when the commish asks for volunteers, The Muts are first in line.

Just wish they were first in line to make the team a winner consistently.

Stick,

I just hope there is a plan A.

Keep in mind that Omar does have a staff that should still be in the office. I imagine that much of the grunt work is handled by assistants anyway. And with modern technology, Omar will just be a conference call away!

In any case, hopefully this does resolve itself in the next week. And I would be willing to bet that no matter what, Minn will circle back to the other 2 teams to beat any offer.

Unless all 3 teams stand fast and say you got our best, take it or leave it, Smith will likely still try to play them off each other. Personally, I don't think the guy has a clue, but he did make a strong deal with TB, so maybe it is just the Santana deal is over his head?

Paralysis by analysis maybe.

I really hope though that Omar is actuvely working on plans B thru R just in case Santana falls though. And who knows, maybe something juicy will fall into his lap, he grabs it, and the whole l'affair Santana just fades away.

1 more solid SP is all they need. And a Mench type for BU OF and 1B. That is all they need to be fully stocked for ST>

Doesn't have to be Santana. Just not Livan. Colon might have worked. A Snell/Cain type would be perfect.

Oh, and make it a priority to extend Perez ASAP before they lose him next off season.

Hey John- When I emailed this to you early this morning, I also asked if and how you thought this would affect Santana negotiations. Several sites have reported that they believe MIN will deal Santana in the next week or two. If Omar is in Isreal, I sure hope his iPhone works in Tel Aviv!

What are your thoughts on him leaving for 8 days approximately 1 month before the season and so ace here yet?

Hey Big Bob... If this so calGed President acted like he gave a crap about anything, maybe guys like Omar wouldn't have to do this kind of thing. Give Omar credit for trying to do some good in the world.

"Objective is to improve relations between Israeli and Palestinian children."

I thought Minaya's objective was to improve the NY Mets! I hope he has a good long distance plan since the Santana fiasco should wrap up in the next week or so, according to various reports.
