Since the Mets weren’t doing anything today I thought I’d go to the mall.
I must have seen the Mets’ logo on 20 different things, including tree ornaments. The oddest thing it was on was a set of car floor mats.
The strangest object you’ve seen the logo?

My ex GF ass because I painted it there so I could see it while I….
I saw it on the 2007 NL East flag. Whoops, that logo said somebody else. Thanks Omar for not getting Cordero or Rauch last summer. I know the cost was too high, sigh again.
Appropriate that the logo is on car mats so you can step on Los Coupons like they step on the fans.
From Chris Ruddick, MLB Editor for Cablevision:
Willis’ stay in the Motor City may be short-lived, however. There is some talk that Willis could be flipped to the New York Mets along with catcher Ivan Rodriguez in a package.

i am going to see the mets logo being worn by bryan stokes.
Yesterday’s Sports Section of the NY Times should be required reading for all ARod fans. Selena Roberts has written a lengthy account of ARod the ‘businessman’. Titled “Behind the Facade” the story begins on Page D1, the Front Page of the Sports Section.
Willis/Pudge not cominh here
You can forget it. Det owner said Willis will stay. Freddy Coupon agrees.
I read that article Miss Anne. It was quite interesting but it won’t help the Mets any. As for the Mets logo, I know I won’t see it on Santana’s shoulder next year!
metsblog.com—Santana wants to be a Met.
But I believe it when I see it.
Slotting
Another reason this org had problems competing from NYNewsday
Major League Baseball establishes “slots” for the early rounds of the draft, and it begs teams to adhere to those signing-bonus ceilings. The Yankees are among many clubs that treat those recommendations with stifled laughter, routinely paying above slot. That’s how the Yankees have restocked their minor leagues, with director of scouting Damon Oppenheimer choosing the right players to reward. The Mets, to the contrary, have an excellent relationship with the commissioner’s office, and they haven’t paid over slot since drafting Mike Pelfrey in 2005.
Too busy trying to do what the commisioner’s office wants them to do whether it be this or not going above the lux tax or playing in special exhibition games instead of trying to put a winning team out there.
More about ARod on the Front Page of the Week in Review Section of the Sunday New York Times:

Forget about bringing Julian Jaiver out of retirement…
FASS TRACK: Surprisingly, the Mets were interested enough in the idea of bringing aboard veteran lefhander Jeff Fassero to have him throw for scouts. Fassero, who turns 45 next month, was out of baseball last season and will gear up for an attempted comeback by playing in the Mexican winter league.
I’ve seen these reports about getting another lefty.
Why do we need one? Feliciano, Show and Heliman are not enought to get lefties out?
Is there some trade involving several of these guys?
A company is putting MLB logos on urns and caskets. If this isn’t the weirdest place to put a logo, I don’t know what is. I wish I were kidding. Sadly, the Mets logo is not available yet, but hopefully it will be by the time I kick the bucket.

Sad, but it is all about money and greed….
