One of the all time movies lines. I heard it today. From White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen, who was initially denied access to the media workroom because he didn’t have a media credential.
Guillen gave his version of the movie line – I wonder how many of you know the movie – and walked past the guard, who rushed in after him. The guard’s supervisor was summoned along with a MLB official who let in Guillen.

“Omar…what we seem to have here is a failure to communicate..” One of the all time best movie lines describing Omar’s attempt to make his prospects better than other teams prospects while attempting to make a trade for a #1 pitcher. :-)
What’s coming to mind is Director John Huston’s the Treasure of the Sierra Madre———-
Reminds me of the time in 1964 when the Mets played some exhibition games in Mexico. Edna Stengel had problems with the papers to get past the borders while Casey Stengel sailed right through. When Casey asked about the discrepancy the border official told him “You don’t need a passport, Mr Stengel. Your face is your passport.”
Blazzing Saddles!!!!
That’s where that line is from, one of the funniest movies ever created. Mel Brooks comic genius at it’s best.
Mets don’t need any stinkin badges at the AARP meetings and Bingo night at shea stadium.
Annie, I think, nailed that one. The line is uttered originally in Huston’s 1948 Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
Omar would say “I don’t need no stinkin badges…you joe what I’m saying”
Omar could also say “I don’t have no stikin players…you joe what I’m saying”
and the crowd in the lobby would respond…
“we know you don’t have no stinkin players”
Go home Omar ….
and JD you can leave too…no news for you to report
alphonso bedoya, who played “gold hat” said it.
The bandits had Bogart, Walter Huston and Tim Holt surrounded, and they claimed they were Federales.
Bogart yelled out to show him their badges.
Bedoya , who was not an actor, spits through the space in his teeth and delivers the line
and history is made.
Bruce Bennett, who played the prospector killed in the gunfight in “Treasure of the Sierra Madre”, passed away last February at the age of 100. A former Olympic athlete, he last went skydiving at age 96.
