Mets talking about series in Puerto Rico

November
20

The Mets and Marlins are talking about a three-game series in July in Puerto Rico. Nothing has been signed yet, but the Mets would be the visiting team. … It was reported last spring the Mets were considering playing some spring training 08 games in the Dominican Republic, but there’s nothing concrete on that.

We got creamed when we played the Expos down there. Hope we don’t remember that.

Great…now if it does happen, that’s three fewer games us Miami fans of the Mets can see them play against the Marlins…of course, the Marlins will now know that NO ONE will show up at Dolphin Stadium….lol

As a puertorrican and a Mets fan, I really hope this happens, last time I could not see the Mets play here and I would love to have the opportunity again.

    hey long time no blog!

apparently mr. marty noble left a clue standing out there…mentioning yorvit missing the first 50 games of the season…and we all know what that means…

quite frankly, i would have liked to see bengie molina from the giants to the mets…having watched some of the giants-mets game last year…bengie really tore it up against the mets and against the mets at shea…

who knows…mr. minaya didn’t specifically say the magnitude of estrada’s playing time…plus he’s in his arbitration year…meaning mets can non-tender him as well (as the brewers were planning to…) and fish in molina, after the mets’ demand in catching has withered with the estrada trade…

why did willie use mota so much again?

i dont see good pitching out there…although i wouldn’t mind seeing livan pound out the bottom of the rotation shifting everyone else up…so the it’ll be pedro, maine, perez, livan, and pelfrey with occasional stints from humber to give the guys more rest…i dont see El duque as a starter anymore he’s just too risky…i think his time in the pen would stretch out his usefulness…sometime i suggested for for the potential postseason roster…if el duque came out of the pen this year…who know’s we might have gotten into the playoffs…

one thing i must bring up is the wussiness and pessimism mets fans are showing of late…in fact, much of hte later part of the past season…you guys need to learn to take hits and pick yourselves up…this isn’t over…we’re still a good team

u make a good point about bengie.

did torrealba really miss the first 50 games?

    Tasan –

You make a good point about the pessimism. Personally I lost a lot of trust in the team. Now I’m almost nervous for the season. If they do well it is going to be like “when are they going to fall apart”. Know what I mean? I just hope they pick up a couple of starters (trade for one, sign another) and prove me wrong!

Do you have a link to the Marty Noble article? I didn’t see it on Mets.com
