The inevitable happened: Tom Glavine has a contract offer from the Atlanta Braves. It’s one year. Agent Gregg Clifton is mum on the money, but figuring a hometown discount, the guess is around $10 million.
Based on the option he had with them, the Mets are at $13 million.
“Now, our intention is to prepare a counter-offer that we will give them by tonight,” Clifton said.
Anything close to what the Mets have on the table and he’s gone. Hell, he’s probably gone anyway.
