There have been more than a few suggestions to trade “Carlos Delgado”:http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5178. The only way I see the Mets dealing Delgado is at the trade deadline if they are hopelessly out of the race.
Delgado was frequently injured last summer contributing to an off-year. He’s also 35 and will make $16 million next year (with a club option for 2009), all of which makes dealing him difficult.
Nobody will make that kind of deal now.
