I am very well aware the vast majority of readers here love the Mets and loathe the Yankees.
Even so, the Yankees are still the top dog in the city. When “Alex Rodriguez”:http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5275 opted out of his contract with the Yankees he was also saying he wanted out of New York.
Given that, why would he sign with the Mets? It’s still New York. And, not for one moment say Mets’ fans are less demanding than Yankee fans. I’ve heard the booing at Shea.
Saying no to the Yankees is saying no to New York and by extension saying no to the Mets.
It seems so obvious.
