The Mets picked up Moises Alou’s $7.5 million option and re-signed Damion Easley for $950,000 this afternoon. Both good moves.
“Last year, Moises showed us what type of hitter he was,” said GM Omar Minaya, and about Easley, added, “is a valuable component to the team, in the infield, the outfield, or off the bench.”
Both good moves. I figured Alou was a no-brainer, but didn’t think they’d move this fast on Easley.
Alou cited winning as his motivation: “I’m angry at what happened last year.”
