The Mets are discussing Alex Rodriguez during their organizational meetings as well they should. Good teams don’t overlook anything.
As appealing that his numbers might be, I’m not crazy about bringing him, because:
-The Mets might have the resources, but it would disrupt their salary structure, and there are too many other problems where the money should be spent.
-Rodriguez has never been the missing piece, and I don’t see it happening if he came to the Mets. There are still significant questions in the rotation and in the pen. He can come here and hit another 50 homers, but unless the pitching improves it won’t make a difference.
