I’ve found few readers to this blog who can comprehend cheering for both the Mets and Yankees. But what about football? Is it possible to pull for both the Giants and Jets?
Its easier to like the Giants than the Yankees, thats for sure. In 1978 when I was still unsure which team to pick, there was a Giant Team With no offense and a great D. There was a Jet team with a dynamic offense and Young Defensive Linemen like Klecko and Gastineau coming in. I was already leaning for the Green, but one game sealed it. The infamous Pisarcik fumble. I guess I picked the wrong team in this sport too. Oh, Well.

I root for both but then again I’m not a BIG football fan.
I like it, I can watch it, if a game is on I’ll leave it on my TV, but I’m not a die hard.
With that said the reason I can root for both is because since I’m not a big football fan I’m waiting for either the Giants or Jets to persuade me to root for them. I’m like a free agent fan and i’m looking for something to entice to cheer for a team, does that make any sense? haha.

Met fan, hate the Yankees with a passion. Want them to lose every game.
Also a Giants fan, but have no problem rooting for th eJets to do well aslo. Of course, tomorrow I am rooting for big blue, but any other time, I either root for the Jets to win, or just don’t care either way.
As a kid, I grew up mostly with baseball and to a lesser degree basketball. I was raised as a diehard Mets and Knicks fan. I have an inherent hatred of the Yankees, Braves, and the Bulls, Heat, Nets, etc…
I didn’t really start following football until I was in college, so since I didn’t grow up with the sport, I follow and support both the Giants and the Jets. The same would probably be true of the Mets and Yankees if I hadn’t come around to baseball until my late teenage years also.

Mets & Yankees is always love/hate. The Yankees are the evil empire with all the bread and 26 Championships. While the Mets are always the underdog. Finding as many ways to be the answer to as many trivia questions you can think of. Which team lost the pennant after being up by 7 with 17 to go…but as far as Jets/Giants I love the Jets – though I am thoroughly disappointed with them at this point. With their performance against lowly Buffalo – 4-12, 6-9 is not out of the question. Can only root for the Giants when they play a “hated” rival. Rooted for them against the Ravens in the Superbowl. I guess when it comes down to it they are a NY team against all others. Not so the Yankees.
I like both, could not choose between one. Was rooting for Jets today because I thought Giants would be bad this year and Jets had a chance, but obviously both surprised me.
