Your team is out, but will you still watch the playoffs? If so, will you have a rooting interest?
And, who do you believe will wind up in the World Series?
I will watch, and I will root for the Cubbies.
I consider them the mid-western version of the Mets.
BTW, on the AL side, I’m pulling for the Indians.
I’m thinking Angels v. Phillies for the WS.
I stated all a long that the rockies will win the wild card and they did, I will be routing for the Rockies to make it to the world series and hope they win it all. LET’s GO ROCKIES
Playoffs? What playoffs? Hockey starts tomorrow…
LETS GO RANGERS!!
I will only scan the games or scores. If it is close in the later innings, I will stick around.
However…I am only watching to see the Yanks and Phils lose.
Root for the Rockies. I want to see someone who has never won take home the crown. But I think the Red Sox will beat the Cubs.
that’s what I’m talking about. The only team and sport I have true passion for anymore, LET’S GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!
I’m pulling for the Rockies, I want them to kill the Phils.
As long as the Phils, Cubs, Yanks or BoSox don’t win it all, I’m fine with it.
It’s baseball, of course I will be watching.
You already know about the Yankees, but I will also be rooting for the Cubs.
I will be able to see all the TNT and TBS games, although I hate the idea that the regular team broadcasters don’t get to do the post season (except for the radio, I think). So, I know the Yankees, and I’ve heard that Ron Darling will be doing the Cubs games – is that correct?
Hoping that at least one of these two go to the end, but I’ll watch it all anyway.
Have you heard any rumblings at all about reyes. The reason why I ask is because yesterday I went fishing and there was another person that happen to be in the spot that I fish at fishing also. This person turned out to be a Mets fan. We started talking about the Mets and he told me that Reyes is doing coke and that is why reyes has become what he has become. I thought this was ridiculous and asked him “Where did you here of this” and he replied, “I didn’t here of it he just has coke eyes. I asked him “what do you mean and he said, “when they show close up of reyes his eyes are always glassy. If for any reason this could be true than if I was the Mets I would call the twins and strike a deal to trade Reyes for Santana.
Want: Cubs-Red Sox, with Cubs winning it.
Will Probably Get Given our luck this season: Phils-Yankees with the Yankees winning.
On another subject, much of the sports news spills over into other areas i.e. the Madison Square Garden verdict is also a legal issue.
It seems to be more prevalent now. Is that because in previous times the athletes were given a ‘pass’, or just because we are now in a 24/7/365 news/media cycle?
This stuff has been going on for ever when it comes to athlete’s. The reason why you here it so much now it’s because of the media.
I’m wondering if anyone else is reconsidering Cablevision because of the MSG verdict. I know around here I have a choice between Dolan’s outfit, satellite and FiOSTV.
LA Angels based on talent and the Cubs based upon rooting for the sentimental favorite. Let all of the playoffs go to the full amount of games (I know the networks would love that) and let the Cubs take it in seven! Without an emotional attachment, it may actually be enjoyable to watch!
Rockies all the way… If they win I wont be disappointed, but nothing will make me smile this October more than the Yankees getting swept in the first round and Alex Rodriguez batting .000. The cherry on top would be Joba Chamberlain giving up a grand slam to Victor Martinez in the bottom of the ninth in game one to cap off an 11 run come from behind win as the Indians take game one 11-10.
This is crazy…can’t believe i’m validating this, but you’re the 4 or 5th random person to mention something along these lines (no pun intended). I know someone who’s had relations with him and knows of his “indiscretions”.....
I still won’t fully believe it until I hear a credible source report it, but it’s troubling….extremely troubling
As a Baseball fan I will be following the playoffs. I am pulling for the Indians and the Rockies. I think it will be the Phillies and the Yankees in the World Series. I would have to root for the Phillies in this one, not because it’s against the Yankees but because I will alsways root for the National League, the DH rule should be abolished.
In past whenever the Mets did not make the playoff, I always chose a team to root for and found myself not watching any of the games anyway. It just takes a while to rid myself of the disappointment.
This year I decided to root for the Cubbies. I can never see myself rootig for the “Evil Empire”.
I’ll be rooting for the Rockies and Cubs and of course the Indians and if not, whoever the Yankees play against.
No, don’t have much interest but want the ROCKIES to pulverize the PHILLIES….I HATE THE PHILLIES!!
Nope, it’s hockey season. Let’s go Rangers!
I am really having a tough time not seeing my Mets in the playoffs…I still cannot believe it.
Given the choices, I would go for a Red Sox-Cubs WS.
And I hope Cleveland kicks the Yankees’ butts.
Yes, I will be watching. As a Mets fan, it will be painful to watch the playoffs, but I am a baseball fan and still have interest.
As for a rooting interest, I always cheer on the underdog. Colorado has never been in the World Series, so I am like them to come out of the National League. Cleveland or Anaheim/Los Angeles would be my choices in the American League.
I am a National League fan so will always root for the NL team in the World Series.
The Diamondbacks are my local team here, a young overachieving team, which is refreshing. I still dont know how they ended up with the best record in the NL with that lineup. Now that they are in the dance anything can happen. A little extra incentive is the 50-1 bet I put on them in Las Vegas to win it all before the season started.
Yankees vs Phillies in W.S. Angels long shot.Phillie luck runs out against Yanks, sorry guys, win or lose Bombers best team in playoffs and definitely best team in NYC.
I didn’t think I would watch, but then got caught up in the 10th the other night and surprisingly enjoyed myself.
Will root for the Cubs. Went to Wrigley for the first time this year and really enjoyed myself and enjoyed the fans. It’s a real baseball town. Everyone we met that day wanted to talk to us about a Mets-Cubs WS. Oh well.
A Mets-Cubs world series would be lots of fun but it can’t happen since they are in the same league….
Ray: I know he got injured at the end of the year, but are there any rumors of the D-Backs trading O-Dawg? He’d be a perfect fit at 2b for the Mets.
John, I’m going to pose your own questions to you –
And, the answers are?
I see my rockies are off to a good start, francis stikes out the side in the first and the rocky hitters are rocking the ball around the park. LET’S GO ROCKIES
METS and their fans remind me of a SNICKERS commercial…
“NOT GOING ANYWHERE FOR A WHILE” LOL Weeeee!!!! Nope… nowhere!!! You guys are out!!!!
3-0 Rockies bottom of the 2nd. :-)
Steve, To be honest with you, I dont keep up much with the Dbacks. I have tried for years to like them but except for the 2001 WS (Ah, those were the days) I have only had a passing interest. I cant stand listening to Mark Grace, He gives me a headache. I know they really like Odog here, and I would be surprised if he were moved.
I am rooting for the Nets to win the WS this year.
4 to 2 Rocks , top of the eighth. Holliday homer off of Tom Gordon. Let’s Go Rockies!!!
well the mets had the big choke and there is next year but Im a big baseball fan and the cubbys are America’s sweetheart so ill root for them…Also when sweet lou was playing minor league ball here in Elmira I use to play pool with him alot and got to know him so go sweet Lou and get that jinks off the cubbys back..
I’m watching… baseball season will be over soon enough – no point in getting an early start on winter.
I caught the last inning of the Phillies loss (go Rockies!), saw Beckett’s gem (go Red Sox!—I’m still not ready to forgive Mike Scioscia for 1988) and plan to catch at least some of the Cubbies game tonight.
I’m rooting for the Cubs to take the series. I’m tired of hearing about their curse, and I plan to root for Cliff Floyd.
You know we talk about our manager if he should be back and this and that, but I think it should be noted on how Lou Piniella choked yesterday by taking out Zambrano, looking forward to Game 4…a game that might not even happen. Absolutely insane to take out the guy after throwing only 85 pitches.
steve, they were talking about how Zambrano may be suffering from heat exhaustion, or may soon be in the next inning, since he had that happen during the regular season. Due to that, it was probably a smart move, since Piniella said he could go to 100 pitches and still come back on three days rest.
Spider: From what I read online this morning, Zambrano definitely wanted to pitch the seventh inning. If the Cubs swept, 3 days rest wouldn’t have been necessary.
So? If he was overheated, it’s not an issue how many pitches he had. I said that he could have pitched more based on pitch count, so I agree with you there.
Spider: I don’t see any report of him being overheated. I looked at various sources online, and all it mentions is Lou wanting to save him for “potentially” coming back on 3 days rest. My old adage…win the game that you’re in.
if you want to know about the mets please visit this site it has the whole 2007 season summary http://www.sportales.com/Baseball/Mets-2007.49794
