A lot of good talk early and we’ll continue it tonight. Phillies are off, which is too bad because you want to see the other guys on the scoreboard.
What’s going on? A lot of bruised and battered Mets to play. … Carlos Delgado has homered twice since coming back. He’s on my HR Derby team with the other writers, so I don’t mind if he gets hot. (Also have Dunn, Holliday, Hardy and Willingham).

I am really hoping that Glavine goes out and has another good outing tonight. If there is anything to make me confident, it is having Glavine on the mound. He has been very good lately (although the bullpen keeps leaving him hanging)and I really think he is going to come through!
iMets: Leiter and Franco were vocal players with opinions on just about everything, but they had nothing to do with the player decisions made during that time. I think sometimes fans just don’t like vocal players. But I don’t mind it; it’s actually more interesting than players who say nothing.
I agree with you on Rickey. I don’t think he adds anything to the club. He should not be brought back next year. I was pointing out Reyes’ relationship to Rickey because I thought you were blaming Reyes’ second half slump on HoJo.
