-Watching Carlos Delgado taking early hitting. First soft-toss BP. Now in the cage. He’s been at it awhile, so maybe he’ll play. Willie Randolph was out here earlier watching. Usually he doesn’t do that unless the player is close to coming back.
-There’s no word yet on Paul Lo Duca’s hand or Moises Alou on the day after.

I find it hard to believe that the first game Delgado comes back to is a game against a lefty. But we shall see!

Hi Mr D;
I’m back and I see “our boys” struggled a liitle bit lately. Once my # 2 man Carlos Degado comes back to help David and company, they’ll be OK again.
My BF Donovan said I should ask you if this extra rest thing that Pedro needs is just for this year or is he going to need extra rest for all of his playing days?
Jess, if Pedro needs extra rest for the remainder of his career, then that would be a problem. During the regular season, if you carried an extra starter, that would leave your bench or bullpen short. But I don’t think this will be the case for Pedro. They are just doing it now because he’s still less than a year removed from surgery and they can afford to with the expanded rosters. I think he’ll be ready to pitch on normal rest by the playoffs if necessary.
