-Moises Alou said he expects to be able to play tonight. He felt a twinge in the same quad that sidelined him for much of the season. My guess is he’ll sit.
-The news has been positive for Carlos Delgado taking live BP. Maybe this weekend at Florida.
-No word when Orlando Hernandez will play catch. That’s fruitless. It will be over three weeks from the time the playoffs begin from when he last pitched. Maybe the second round if the Mets get that far.

Excellent news on Delgado! Can he pitch though? :-) Key question: Is anyone in the bullpen going to step up? Will Pelfrey give the Mets a quality start? Matt Chico is 5 & 2 at home.
Gotta go to metsblog.com to see the picture of the Phillie Fanatic gaining on Mr. Met, who is counting down the magic number
wow the faith some people have in Delgado.
;-]
I have plenty of faith in my man Carlos. Hey with Shawn Green, only four more runs batted in and he’ll be equal to LoDuca!
uh-huh. and thank to him he prevent that many more runs that delgado would have allowed. tell the truth. The diving catches Green has made; would have been extra base balls if delgado had been at 1st.
Delgado seems to take a long time to get his timing back when he comes off the DL. Green has been very productive lately, and is making a case for being on this team next year. He has a better glove than Carlos too.
That being said I am sure willie will do the obvious thing and put Delgado back at first base right away. I hope at least they keep him in the 6th spot in the order until he proves he can hit higher in the order.
Suds: Green I am sure will be in RF when Delgado comes back.
I rather see him at 1st. he plays a much better short game these days. his speed is much more productive at 1st than it has in RF.
Well since Delgado isn’t a RF, I don’t think it will happen that way. You may see that when it comes to the World Series.
I see it this way: Green gets the 1st base start. and IF for some reason we need a heavy bat. Bring Delgado in to play first and move Green into outfield or sit him.
Because honestly, I rather a first baseman that can prevent the extra base or the run. Than a 1st baseman that might swing the bat hard but give up runs. and at this point we need to stop as many runs as possible.
But thats just me being realistic.
