Moises Alou passed the audition and will play tonight. He said he’s about 95 percent.
“I feel playable,” Alou said. “But, I have to be careful.”
great. A 40 YO OF that has to play “careful”. WHat the heck does that mean? Not going hard after balls? Not running out of th ebox, or hsutling on the bases?
If that’s the case, sit him!
Hopefully it just means no dives or clibing the wall! Or even better, nothing but ground balls and Ks from Pelfrey!
sigh. ok i am going to eat dinner and get drunk and pee in a cup tomorrow. yay me.
Lets Go Mets Go.
What that means is Alou is as close to blowing out his quad as to the mext time he hits the ball and has to run the bases. What it all means is he is hurt and will finish the job the next time he runs the bases.
Steve C: The best thing for you to do is not to even watch the game. Enjoy your wife. Enjoy your kids. Turn on the t.v. round 10:00 to watch the happy recap. Root root root for the Mets…Cardinals…Giants…and the Pirates. I guarantee you that before you lay your head on the pillow to go to bed, the magic number will be 9. :-)
To avoid second-guessing, I’ll say it now. I don’t think this is a red hot idea.-JD
I’ll say it now when Willie puts his right hand up for Mota in the 7th inning in a 3-3 game it’s not going to be a good move.
At this point it doesn’t matter who Willie puts in the seventh inning because the whole bull pen stinks and I think your being overly positive if you think Pelfrey will go six innings tonight because it seems lately it’s a given for a met starter to struggle to get to the fifth inning never mind the sixth inning.
why is maine still in th egame he’s struggling every inning
I hope you ate a poppy seed bagle this morning to throw off the results :)
Dave: I think we’ll get the magic number down to 7 tonight. :-)
What is the number today?
I looked at the sched, both teams have a good shot. I hope we make it, but this team looks lost.
Dave: As Bob Seger would sing…Nine Tonight. When the Mets win tonight and the Phills lose, then it will be down to 7.
OK. So if we both play 500 we are in…
Not sure I like the odds…
A week ago or a month ago I liked our chances. Because of last week I am not so sure.
Dave: I think it’s because your shell shocked because of the ringer the Mets have put themselves and their fans through! I’m not a shrink but I think the relief that teams like the Cardinals of 2006 and the White Sox of 2005 felt when they finally clinched their playoff spot after fighting so hard to hold off the pack, catapulted them into the success they had at the end.
