I’m not going to blow smoke at you, the Mets are a troubled bunch right now, regardless of the positive spin David Wright puts on things.
What I take from last night was another bad outing from John Maine. With Orlando Hernandez probably out for the first round (I still think they’ll win the division), the Mets will need both him and Oliver Perez.
I don’t have confidence in either, and with Tom Glavine and Pedro Martinez six-inning pitchers these days for the most part, we figure to see the bullpen for at least six innings in the first two games. And, more with Perez and Maine.
That doesn’t give me a good feeling at all.
