There is all sorts of speculation on Orlando Hernandez because the Mets haven’t been straight.
Last Friday, Hernandez told the media before his manager he was hurting and didn’t think he would pitch Monday. He said he cut short his bullpen.
Clearly, Randolph didn’t know this, which understandably irked him.
Then, depending on the convenience of the issue, Randolph said he always talks to his players or doesn’t always talk to them.
Yesterday, when asked about Hernandez’s injury, and if he knew he cut his bullpen last Friday, he said “I have a million things going on in my mind.”
Well, the health of one of your key pitchers should be among them.
Randolph and Omar, too, like to dodge questions by saying they don’t always know. Or worse, they ad-lib.
Well, they HAVE to know. That’s their job.-JD
