Where do you begin?
-The decision to start Brian Lawrence. By doing so you are spotting the Nationals four runs and saying you will use your horrible bullpen four plus innings.
-The bullpen. Assuming the Mets reach the postseason (are you that sure anymore?) this is what will beat them. Before Billy Wagner, is there an arm you trust?
-The defense. Four more errors. Ten in two games. It has never been that bad. Of all things, you should control defense.
-The offense shut it down after four innings. This is what happens if they don’t hit.
I know, they are still in first. I also know if you were given at the beginning of the season to be up by 2 1/2 on this date you would have taken it.
However, with two weeks left the Mets should be fine-tuning. Instead they have taken a step back.
