Dan submitted this gem:
Read it and you’ll laugh like I did.
John: Ancient Roman historians tell else in the 2nd Century BC Cato the Elder was concerned about Carthage rebuilding after the 2nd Punic War. He would finish any speech he gave in the Senate on any subject with the phrase “Carthago est Delanda..Carthage must be destroyed. Time for such a phrase in my posts.
Mota must be released.
-To Spiderpig, ooop, Mr. President: There is a blind spot with this organization on Mota. Maybe they don’t want to admit they BLEW it, but Omar, really, YOU GUYS BLEW IT WITH MOTA.
Whew … that needed to be said.
To Dave in Spain: (Future pitching questions). Interesting idea on extending Pedro. The assumption, of course, is his health. Pedro has said he’s done after his contract, so the ball will be in his court. If he wants to, he’s back. … On Santana, if he’s on the market the Mets will back a pitch for him. This just came to me: What better lure for Santana than having Pedro in the rotation next to him? … On closers, I don’t see either being converted to the closer role.
