I thought Lo Duca/DiFelice had been hitting eighth. They have talked about getting fastballs at 8 because the pitcher doesn't want to walk that guy to clear the pitcher's spot, especially with two outs.

Well, Milledge has dropped behind Lo Duca; maybe this means he will get more fastballs as a result of being in front of the pitcher, as long as he can lay off curveballs outside of the strike zone.

Alomar Jr. was sent to AA Binghamton instead of AAA so it looks like he is coming back as soon as his 10 days are up. Castro must not be ready soon. No other reason Alomar Jr. would go to AA.

John, can you talk a bit about why the Mets chose Pelfrey over Humber?

Pelfrey's been a bit exposed at the big league level already and hasnt shown much improvement at AAA. I like the idea of the element of surprise with Humber, and the chance to get Pelfrey a win in relief is the situation presents itself. Pelf is 3-13 overall this year, has to be painful to have that donut at the big league level.

I think they still have a few days to wait until the DFA'd Sandy Alomar can re-join the team as a third catcher.

John, The rosters have expanded yet the Mets did not add any hitters (at least not yet). As a result, they still have only 2 catchers. What if todays game goes 17? What if a catcher gets hurt? This doesn't make sense to me.
