That should be the lineup from here on out and when LoDuca or Castro get back, they should bat 8th too. I love this lineup!!!
If everyone were healthy?
I guess I’d go…
Congrats JD: Almost 100 posts on an off day yesterday. Your site is heating up!
I hope they play tonite. Since nobody seems to be allowed to pitch on 3 days rest it causes too much trouble with the roster to play 2 tomorrow. Plus it will build the pressure to pitch Pedro Sunday…..
Wow what a potent lineup if delgado gets hot this is virtually unstopable idc if chris young is pitching
Sure makes sense to me to bench only the 3rd great number 2 batter this franchise ever had against every righty pitcher. Gee, if only MikeC were in charge we’d be 5 games back! I’m surprised you don’t bat the pitcher 7th to show up LaRussa.
Best #2 batters on the Mets (in order of effectiveness):
Paul Lo Duca
Castillo is “great” now?
I mean, the dude’s serviceable and solid but… he isn’t the future. He’s injury-prone, he’s neither the runner nor the fielder he used to be, he can’t hit for extra bases.
I’m glad he’s on the roster, especially now that Easley is out he’s a solid player in a platoon and/or off the bench but…
Man, if the dude was so great, how was he gotten for less than a song?
Gotay has a potential to be a much better hitter and with Castillo on the downward slope of his career, the defensive difference is less than people care to admit.
Haha, I mean Luis Castillo.
Anyway, I love this lineup.
Poor MikeC…I know blind people that see the game better than MikeC.. You worry about the future in the Big Easy and will take care of today in Big Shea. And don’t stroke out when Omar signs Luis over the winter.
Mike C if Gotay was such a good hitter why did the Royals let him go. I would take a good defender than a hitter at 2b when the Mets are healthy
pvhornet05 makes an excellent point. The only exception would be Chase Utley…
